Coach Sam Kash
"Hey! I’m Sam Kash, a Professional Pickleball Registry–certified (PPR) coach who brings energy, creativity, and connection to every session. I coach all ages and all levels — from brand-new players to advanced competitors — and I love helping people grow their game in a fun, supportive, and motivating environment.
Before pickleball took over my life (in the best way), I was the Director of Performing Arts at a summer camp, where I ran a full theatre program producing four full-length shows each summer with over 150 kids, and led a rock band program where campers learned instruments, played together, and performed live. That experience shaped how I teach — blending structure, creativity, teamwork, and confidence-building into every lesson.
I also teach snowboarding and have worked as a snowboard trainer, where I trained other instructors on how to teach effectively. That role strengthened my ability to break down skills, adapt to different learning styles, and help people progress with confidence — all of which translate directly to the pickleball court.
Whether you’re working on fundamentals, strategy, or high-level play, I meet players where they’re at and help them take the next step.
You’ll usually spot me in my pink hat, and I’m always happy to hop in and play with anyone. I love building community, creating positive energy, and making pickleball a place where people feel welcome, challenged, and excited to play.
Let’s play. Let’s learn. Let’s have fun."

Coach Eric Ruiz
"Hi Everyone, my name is Eric! I’m a middle school teacher and pickleball-lover! I’ve been playing pickleball since 2022. I love the community and social aspect of pickleball and I have many new friends because of the sport. Pickleball has allowed me to continue staying active and competitive!
One of the things I love most about pickleball is competing in tournaments. I have medaled in singles and men’s doubles tournaments. My next goal is to add a mixed doubles medal to the collection. I currently have a 4.1 DUPR and looking to chase down 4.5!
I am looking forward to introducers beginners to the game of pickleball. I would also love to be able to help others level up their game. I was fortunate enough to have people help me level up and I’d like to do the same.
My passion for inspiring and empowering students extends into all areas of my life. I hope to introduce and grow a new generation of pickleballers in the Lehigh Valley! "

Coach Brye Suazo
Hi, I’m Brye!
I’ve been passionate about sports my entire life. In high school, I competed on the Varsity Volleyball, Table Tennis, and Chess teams, and after graduating, I continued playing in advanced volleyball and basketball leagues across New York, including intercity and interstate tournaments. About three years ago, I discovered pickleball—and I’ve been hooked ever since.
What I love most about pickleball is the combination of competition, creativity, and community. Every match is different, with endless possibilities for offensive and defensive strategies. The ability to craft points, adapt, and execute under pressure is what makes the game so exciting and rewarding for me.
I’m a highly competitive player who thrives on growth and challenge. I’ve competed in over 225 DUPR-sanctioned matches and 60+ additional non-DUPR competitive matches. I’ve experienced both wins and losses, and that balance is what continues to drive me to improve and compete at a higher level.
As a self-taught player, I’ve spent countless hours studying the game—learning from top coaches in YouTube, analyzing strategies, and refining techniques. I take what I learn and adapt it into my own playing style, which allows me to bring a practical and flexible approach to coaching.
My coaching style is detailed, patient, and structured. I break down each skill step-by-step—from footwork and body positioning to paddle control and contact points—so you not only learn how to execute a shot, but also understand why it works. I emphasize proper mechanics, smart court positioning, and high-percentage decision-making, with a focus on advanced shot selection, efficient movement, and performing under pressure.
I specialize in helping 3.0–4.0 players refine their skills, expand their shot arsenal, and confidently take their game to the next level.
When I step on the court, I play with a few core principles in mind:
“Defend with discipline. Attack with intention.”
“Absorb the pressure. Deliver the finish.”
“Patience at the kitchen wins more games than panic at the baseline.”
At Horizon Sports Pickleball, you’ll find a team of talented coaches, each with unique strengths and perspectives. I encourage players to explore different lessons and clinics, take what resonates, and build a style of play that truly fits their game. When you do, you’ll see the difference—not just in your performance, but in your confidence and enjoyment on the court.

Coach Rico Escobar

"I was introduced to pickleball after a friend invited me to a casual tournament amongst friends. I had never even heard of it before — it felt like oversized ping pong at first. With a background in high school tennis, I picked it up quickly and was hooked almost immediately. Since then, I’ve competed in tournaments, coached players of all levels, and stayed current with evolving strategies and paddle technology.
My coaching style centers on strategy, positioning, and smart decision-making. I believe pickleball is less about hitting winners and more about minimizing errors. I focus heavily on the soft game, resets, court zoning, and helping players understand why they’re hitting each shot. I especially enjoy coaching intermediate players who are ready to think the game at a deeper level and turn smart decisions into consistent wins.
Favorite Shot: The reset — because it changes the momentum of any rally.
Why I Love Pickleball: It’s one of the few sports where strategy can outweigh athleticism."
Coach Quote:
“Pickleball isn’t a race to 11 winners — it’s a race to 11 errors. Play smarter, not harder.”

Coach Eric Rylka
"I’m Eric Rylka, a competitive pickleball coach who brings passion, strategy, and energy to every court I step on. Before pickleball, I competed at a high level in semi-pro beach volleyball tournaments — and won them. That fast-paced, sand-between-your-toes grind shaped how I move and think on the court today. Quick reactions, court awareness, reading opponents, and controlled aggression are skills I developed through volleyball and now bring directly into my pickleball coaching.
I specialize in building strong fundamentals, smart doubles strategy, and mental toughness. I coach everyone — from beginners learning proper mechanics to advanced players fine-tuning third-shot drops, resets, and transition play. I’m fiercely competitive. I play to win. But I also believe every session should be fun, positive, and family-oriented.
I was the one who introduced Cardio Pickleball to Pennsylvania, bringing the concept up from Florida and creating a high-energy, fitness-driven training experience that blends conditioning with competitive play. That same intensity and drive carries into every clinic, lesson, and match I coach.
Above all, I’m a proud family man who loves sharing the sport and building a strong community around it. When you step on the court with me, we’re not just working on shots — we’re building confidence, sharpening strategy, and developing the habits that make you better every single time you play with me."
